Programmer / Developer Lead – Senior AppDynamics Engineer

The Senior AppDynamics Monitoring Engineer & Administrator would need to have at least 8 years of experience. This Candidate must have strong communication and technical skills.
 
The successful candidate will manage customer’s enterprise AppDynamics server infrastructure and possibly other monitoring tools such as HP Sitescope, and Splunk. This Candidate will also provide expert guidance on the best use of AppDynamics to internal project teams.
 



  • BS in Engineering or Information Systems.


  • 8-10 years IT experience with demonstrated non-administrative IT capability similar to those listed above.


  • Experience identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project teams; and establishing project budgets


  • Experience tracking project activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions


  • Experience preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends


  • Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing.


  • Able to present ideas applicable to the audience and context. Excellent active listening skills


  • Quantitative Management: Ability to determine and track process measures to deliver process effectiveness and efficiency


  • Problem Solving: Natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.


  • Ability to analyze problems and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating and selecting alternatives and implementing solutions

 
Responsibilities:
 


  • Support application monitoring for Java, .NET and NodeJS application architectures.


  • Monitor the responsiveness and availability of critical websites and web applications from the end-user perspective.


  • Monitor, alert and report on the health and performance of project team applications.


  • Track applications’ availability across cluster servers, including AWS cloud with built-in alerting and instant notification of issues.


  • Provide deep visibility of application performance for project teams.


  • Setup analytical databases to predict application performance on application changes.


  • Simulate and measure Quality of Experience (QoE) for project team applications.


  • Communicate changes and outages to appropriate stakeholders


  • Ensure efficiency and conformity in operation through effective communication with all staff.


  • Participate in corporate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client service, efficiency, and profitability.


  • Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.


  • Provide direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.


  • Use technical expertise to help internal project teams and others by answering technical questions regarding the usage, trouble-shooting and functionality of delivery systems products to ensure effective implementation and usage of delivery system products.


  • Apply knowledge of computing systems to choose appropriate troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex, escalate delivery systems problems.


  • Work with appropriate product supplier (AppDynamics) for enhancements and issues not resolved in-house.


  • Use technical and industry knowledge to choose an appropriate solution from a number of possible standards.


  • Document information such as configuration, installation and user guides following process standards.


  • Template management and rollout.


  • Results oriented: Able to drive things forward regardless of personal interest in the task.

 
 
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
