Role will require working outside of core hours, weekends within a 24×7 shift pattern.  All shift workers are eligible for a shift allowance payment £310.00pcm pro rata

Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 6 on, 4 off, 4 on, 6 off (combining Day/Night shifts)
Day Shift Start/End: 7am/7pm
Night Shift Start/End: 7pm/7am

This role is a Fixed Term Contract from March 2022 to August 2026

Your role

  • Reporting to the Team Leader and Operations Manager for the 24×7 Global Command Centre UK, Operators are required to monitor and ensure infrastructure systems availability is maintained to the highest level, and that Events and Incidents are accurately created and managed, thus ensuring that Service Impacts are resolved or escalated efficiently and effectively within contractual Service Level Agreements
  • Operators work as part of a small team within a secure Operations Centre facility, utilising a variety of infrastructure systems tools and systems; including Microsoft Windows Server and UNIX/Linux Enterprise Server environments
  • All staff working in the secure Global Command Centre facility are required to undergo security vetting to MoD (SC)/NPPV2 levels.  The security vetting procedure is fully sponsored by Capgemini UK plc.  Minimum UK residency requirements apply

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and maintenance of client infrastructure
  • Participation in ensuring services are delivered to SLA and KPI targets
  • Ownership and completion of assigned tasks
  • Identifying and escalating risks and issues, and service impacting issues as required
  • Identification of potential service improvements
  • Maintenance and production of procedural documentation
  • Provide data for the production of daily reports as required
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal/external stakeholders
  • Ensure that all physical and systems security procedures are adhered to according to documented procedures

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of essential and/or desirable skills for role
  • Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Flexibility around working outside contractual/Shift hours (Overtime is available)
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure with a minimum of supervision
  • Strong team-working ethic

  • Experience of working in demanding/time-sensitive, process-driven environments
