Content Designer

An overview of the role

We are looking for a Content Design Consultant to join the award-winning Digital Experience team within Capgemini.

This role is dynamic and hands-on. You will be expected to support our delivery through a user-centred approach: translating user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into world-class services for leading companies and government.

Why this role?

The services we co-create with our clients are often transformational – the solution may not be obvious, and we need an experienced content designer who can make sense where there is very little framework or direction. You’ll be expected to work closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to drive the project direction for the best outcomes.

You’ll be experienced:
Evaluating existing systems and services from a content perspective; in-line with best practice and accessibility standards
Working with clients to create and validate content that meets user needs and business objectives
Creating evidence-based content design recommendations with a clear narrative and documentation
Creating and iterating content based on user feedback, research, and analytics
Working closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders and partners to deliver clear, relevant content
Ensuring content is user focused, accurate, accessible, optimised appropriately (e.g. for search)
Meeting relevant design, style and brand guidelines if available or helping establish guidelines where none exist
Working with other specialists in project teams to understand user behaviours to improve how systems and services work
Supporting the wider digital experience team with best practice, and help promote user-focused content design

Why you?

You will make a positive impact on the quality of our offer by contributing to the content design activity for critical accounts. This role is initially focused on our work within the Public Sector but experience of and a willingness to work in the private sector is advantageous. As such you’ll work within a team of specialists from Service Designers to User Researchers and deliver your work for project teams from a broad range of specialisms.

Experience working with the UK Government – delivering within the Government Service Standard and participating in GDS assessments
Demonstrable domain knowledge of UK Government Departments
Evidence of developing clear, accessible content to meet user needs for digital services
Strong editing skills and an eye for detail
Skilled at writing for different topics, audience groups, purposes, styles, and formats
Adept at providing simple, clear content to communicate complex issues
Ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly and clearly, demonstrating expert knowledge in an applied setting
Experience working within an Agile team within a commercial environment
Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, multi-vendor teams
Good project case studies (web-link or PDF) outlining your contribution towards each project, process, methods, and outcomes (all submissions treated with the strictest confidence)

A note about the consultancy lifestyle
We want to make sure that we find the right people for our teams and consultants – of all specialisms – within Capgemini are often required to work at the client’s premises as part of co-located delivery teams. And, this may mean working away from home for part or all of the working week.

Of course, we cover living, travel, and accommodation expenses – but we realise that this lifestyle may not suit everybody.
