Who you’ll be working with

As Capgemini’s largest account globally, Capgemini’s HMRC Market Unit (MU), is genuinely at the forefront of everything we do. Building on a partnership which goes back 15 years, Capgemini is working closely with HMRC to drive an exciting transformation agenda. As part of the executive team, you will be working with the MU Head who is responsible for setting the strategy and direction for all our project, service delivery and support work for HMRC

What does the role involve?

Executive Assistant, Head of Business Management, PMO Director, Change Consultant…we don’t mind what you call yourself. If you can help us achieve our ambitions by driving real change at board level, we want to speak to you!
We are looking for a self-starter to work closely with the MU Head, to assist all board members in progressing key change activities. You will be instrumental in shaping and advancing strategic initiatives and managing risks at the highest level.
Tasks and responsibilities will include:
•    Owning and driving board level initiatives on behalf of the MU Head
•    Influencing senior stakeholders and drive to an outcome
•    Defining and shaping the Extended Leadership Team engagement in the new TOM governance structure
•    Planning and organising responses to client requests/governance boards
•    Recommending any new initiatives that need to be created in support of MU direction
•    Planning and integration of initiatives as well as tracking and reporting progress

What will I bring?

This is a high-profile role and critical to our success. In order to progress we’ll be looking for you to demonstrate the following:
•    A strong track record of working hand-in-hand with C-suite and executive level stakeholders
•    A technical background or in-depth understanding of the workings of an IT service provider
•    Experience working in a fast-paced environment
•    A history of working for large, complex and multi-site organisations
•    Strong program management skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity
•    An enviable success-rate in managing business critical projects, programmes and strategic initiatives
•    Evidence of driving transformation on a group-wide level

Am I the right fit?

It’s not just about your experience. To help us succeed you’ll also need to display the following qualities:
•    A discreet approach and the ability to maintain confidentiality
•    Exceptional attention to detail
•    The ability to prioritise and organise extremely busy work schedules
•    A self-starting, proactive approach and the ability to use your initiative
•    The ability to balance the need to act with the ability to apply judgement and ask for guidance when necessary
•    Energy, enthusiasm and a rigorous approach to getting things done
•    Tact, diplomacy and exceptionally good judgement in every interaction
•    The ability to think long-term and translate strategies into action
•    You care about things being done well
•    Empathy and the ability to see things from other peoples’ perspectives
•    Diverse stakeholder management skills at all levels up to the MU Board
•    The ability to deal with senior stakeholders and drive to an outcome – unafraid to escalate where appropriate to maintain pace
•    Strong communication skills
•    Focus and tenacity
•    The ability to work in an agile and collaborative manner
•    A problem-solving approach – the ability to provide a point of view and gain agreement on major dependencies and resolve key issues

What we’ll offer you

Professional development. Accelerated career progression. An environment that encourages entrepreneurial spirit. It’s all on offer at Capgemini. We want to make sure that we find the right people to work in our teams, and we know that a traditional working week isn’t necessarily right for everyone. So we’d love to hear from you if you feel you’re a great fit for this role, and would like to work flexibly. As an example, some of our team members work four days a week, but travel across the UK during their working days. Or you might prefer to work three days a week (in a job share scenario) with travel limited to a certain radius. If you are the right person for this role, we’ll find the right working approach for you.
