The job on offer

As an Azure Cloud Architect within Capgemini, you’ll drive strategy and innovation to support and improve business capabilities, processes, and applications in the Cloud for a variety of clients – supporting them in adopting or advancing their use of public cloud services. 


No two projects are ever the same within our Cloud Infrastructure Services practice, we’re looking for people with real-world experience that goes beyond traditional IaaS and into PaaS, SaaS, Microservices and Containers, with demonstrable Cloud Engineering knowledge and experience. 


Work could vary between:

  • Cloud Business Cases – taking ownership for the development of Cloud adoption business cases, ranging from an ‘all-in’ public cloud migration, to containers on public cloud cost comparison exercise. 
  • Cloud Migrations – from assessment to execution, looking at ‘what-to-migration’, ‘where-to-migration’ and ‘how-to-migration’. With the opportunity to lead a team of architects and engineers to deliver. 
  • Cloud Optimisation – continual assessment of our client’s IT landscape, scoping and proposing recommendations to optimise their business, improve quality or reduce their IT costs. 
  • Cloud Architecture & Engineering – leading on projects involving public cloud, from deployment of a data-lake platform or an IoT platform, taking responsibility for all non-functional aspects and work with data scientists and IoT architects on delivering the functional requirements  

Your role

As a leader in Cloud technology, you’ll be:

  • Architecting, designing and delivering whole or part of a significant Azure public Cloud projects
  • Defining and maintaining technical designs according to cloud best practices and ensuring they are deployed correctly in the Cloud environment by your team of engineers. 
  • A champion for agile methodology, enabling a CI/CD toolset to be adopted. 
  • Mentoring agile delivery teams through the process of implementing cloud optimisations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners and customers on an international scale. 
  • Continually self-improve by expanding your knowledge, relationships and certifications with our Cloud and technology partners, which will be fully supported. 

Your location is Flexible within the UK, but flexibility to travel from time to time due to projects requirement or meetings may be required. 

Your profile

We are looking for Cloud Architects who have demonstrable architecture and engineering experience in Microsoft Azure in the below capabilities: 

  • Previous experience working in complex project environments, demonstrating your ability to manage stakeholders, influence clients and deal with conflict. 
  • Experience architecting, designing, and delivering whole or part of a significant public cloud project
  • Ability to shift from technical to non-technical discussions seamlessly.  
  • Ability to deliver a project using both waterfall and agile methodologies, with senior roles demonstrating leading and developing teams of architects and engineers.
  • Understanding of Cloud Platform Services (IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS), Cloud Architectures and Cloud Engineering across Azure. 
  • A self-starter and motivated professional, abreast of public Cloud technologies and how they can drive value for client; ideally you will have the relevant vendor certification(s).
