Title: Actimize Business Analyst
The role is within the Regulatory Compliance IT department. The department predominantly supports Global Banking & Markets Compliance at the moment however we will be expanding our coverage to Asset Management, Private Bank and Retail Bank in the near future. The role will involve direct interaction with the US Compliance business.
A vendor product – Actimize – is used by Compliance to monitor trades from front office systems in an attempt to detect patterns of market abuse. The BA would be responsible for the analysis and requirements gathering for the US Compliance teams, liaising with the business to implement models and product coverage based upon local regulatory requirements.
The BA will be a global SME for Group Market Abuse Surveillance. The role ideally requires specialist knowledge of Actimize products however this is not mandatory. The BA will be required to have expert knowledge of investment products and market surveillance techniques. They should have a proven track record of implementing Actimize (or any other market abuse surveillance solution) at tier 1 investment banks.
The successful candidate must have the ability to drive requirements and the project as a whole forward. They must have the capacity to be able to take on certain PM duties as and when required, whilst remaining ‘hands-on’ with the product and the business. They must be able to evidence knowledge of the current regulatory climate and stay abreast of issues and regulations that might affect trade surveillance within the bank..
Duties & Responsibilities:
Analysing and documenting business requirements
Production of detailed functional specifications
Specify and fully document custom Actimize models that would bear scrutiny by an internal audit or external regulators.
Analyse the Retail and Institutional data to ensure accuracy and consistency with GB&M data
Contributing to the overall system design
Carrying out ad hoc testing, working with the System Testers to ensure adequate test scripts have been built and run, assisting users with acceptance testing
Assisting in the training of key business users
Working closely with the IT team to deliver business requirements
Building excellent working relationships with the business and users
Skill, Experience & General information Required:
Candidate will be required to have expert knowledge of investment products and market surveillance techniques and should have a proven track record of implementing Actimize at tier 1 investment banks
Specialist knowledge of Actimize products to implement market surveillance models
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analysis and design skills
Good interpersonal skills
Must be able to work closely with the Global IT team as well as business representatives
Self motivated and enthusiastic
Proactive and willing to use own initiative to resolve issues
Advanced SQL skills
Additional Key skills:
Previous experience of projects in Investment Banking, especially Compliance
The business knowledge associated with working within an investment banking environment
UML (use cases)
Knowledge of Web based application development and design
Should be able to produce accurate estimates for workload and deliver to agreed deadlines
Should have a flexible approach to work and working hours
Organizational, planning and management skills
Ability to work with offshore development and business teams
Knowledge of SharePoint
