Reporting to the T&I Head of Operations, the Operations Manager responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

1. Management of Strategic Investment Budget (SIB) and associated projects, often working with a dedicated PM in the Operation. To include advising on the development of the business case to secure funding, and subsequent assessment of Return On Investment (ROI). Recent example projects include:
• 5G virtualisation: various projects to develop capability and assets in 5G
• Autonomous Mobility: development of an end-to-end V&V MVP for automotive ADAS
• SaMD (Software as a Medical Device): development of a key SaMD framework, and attainment of Legal Manufacturer status
2. Management and governance of strategic projects, including those in R&I (Research & Innovation), in particular to ensure appropriate management is in place, issues are unblocked and risk mitigation actions taken on key projects. Recent examples include:
• Technical governance of the development of a high-altitude unmanned airship
• Management of the development and implementation of the GBL Project Safety Management System
• Management of the technical response for a litigation activity
• Workstream management on Hamilton, an internal change project to enhance the GBL’s value proposition and engineering maturity in the software domain
• Managing the evaluation of ventilator projects as part of the GBL’s Covid-19 response
3. Provision of reporting on T&I activities:
• Monthly reviews and dashboard reporting for each project
• Development of monthly (and other) reports suitable for senior management (M-review and Excom)
• Accurate financial reporting (with data provided by Group Finance, and working with T&I Finance Controller and Investment Controller))
4. Operation of core T&I processes, including the following:
• Annual budget process
• SIB
• Uncapped liability approvals
• CAPEX and capitalisation approvals
• PSMS (working with the GBL Safety Manager)
5. Maintaining T&I operational rhythm:
• Organising and/or chairing T&I daily stand-ups, weekly checkpoints, and other ad hoc T&I meetings
• Administration across T&I, including raising CoOperation agreements, tracking and chasing actions, and maintaining the T&I Teams file repository (all supported by the T&I team assistant)

Provides specialist expertise in specific technologies both internally to guide others and externally in Bid and Project situations.  Has both technical depth and/or breadth to perform a strategic technical role. Capable of communicating technical issues to clients and colleagues and taking ultimate responsibility for technical implementation.
• Ensuring lowest cost through optimized, global process, uniformly implemented;
• Resource pool management; recruiting etc ;
• Constantly reducing unit costs;
• Controlled innovation of the relevant technology offers ;
• Application of standard Capgemini offers;
• Identification of opportunity to up-sell technology offers to the advantage of our clients and making those proposals via the SDM.

 

 

Day to Day responsibilities:
• Responsible for visioning the emerging technology waves within one technology domain;
• Being abreast of changes in the technical domain by keeping track of published material, developing whitepapers and technical papers;
• Building relationships with key personalities in the technical sphere and actively participating in interest groups;
• Responsible for post engagement support in defining high level technology architecture for engagements;
• Helping sales teams with technology expertise and participating in key client meetings as “Expert”(Where relevant, architecting overall IT /networking solutions for clients);
• Pre-sales support on the technical front –attending key client meetings as an “Expert”, reviewing proposals for technical robustness

 

 

• Qualification: 9-13 years (3 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor’s degree and/or required years of experience
• 15+ years of experience
• Must have experience in Technical Process Expertise, Technology Application, Technical Solution Design and Continuous (Service) Improvement
• Should be proficient in Transition Management
