The Role

We are looking to hire a Vice President who brings deep innovation, strategy and business transformation consulting skills, extensive Telecommunications domain expertise and strong access to Telecommunication Industry clients and executives, to help our them through digital technology innovation and transformation.

You will be member of our global Telecommunications Industry team, and exchange, align and interact with colleagues across the world regularly. As a true collaborator, you will partner with Capgemini colleagues from across all Capability practices, from Innovation, Operations and People, Future of Technology, Data Strategy to Design and Technology, and more. 


As a Vice President Invent NA Telecommunications you will be responsible for generating and delivering new business and sell-on consulting opportunities. You will play a leadership role within Invent and the Telecommunications Industry group, helping set strategy, priorities, and direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviors, and hire, coach, manage and develop junior members of the team. 


Key expectations from this role include:

  • Provide direction to and in some cases hands-on delivery of consulting/advisory programs; ensure that we exceed clients’ expectations and deliver against our commercial objectives. Assume the role of Account Executive for select top accounts and oversee the delivery of select Capgemini Invent engagements with these client(s).
  • Capitalize on Capgemini and your personal relationships with Telecommunications companies; Nurture and build a network of CxO level contacts at our key clients and extend our relationships within the Telecom sector. Expand the Invent footprint and generate downstream opportunities for Capgemini.
  • Work with the Capgemini Invent leadership team and the overall Capgemini Group Telecom Industry Unit; frame client transformation opportunities driven by Invent and Capgemini and drive sales efforts with our clients into Telecom industry clients.


You will inspire clients on how to transform their business to drive top and bottom-line results. You will bring your deep insights and experiences about industry trends -and specifically about our clients’ transformation to digital and data companies -and you can effectively apply these insights to pursuits and delivery. You’ll use your understanding of how 5G, cloud and Edge technologies enable transformation of CSP enterprise customers to define, design and shape technology and data enabled transformation programs.

Business development – utilizing a combination of the organization’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating Invent bookings of +$5M per year.

What you bring

With deep industry focus from a leading consulting company, and/or directly from the industry, you’ll bring an understanding of telecommunications industry incl. Communication Services Providers and Network Equipment Providers across marketing, sales, operations, IT, data and networks with experience of defining digital strategies for B2C or B2B transformation.

This includes:

  • Extensive knowledge of the telecom industry including key market drivers and trends as well as emerging technologies such as 5G, cloud and edge
  • In-depth understanding of core telecom business processes as well as underlying enabling technology stacks
  • Experience helping B2B or B2C telecom operators in customer experience and/or technology transformations
  • Understanding of drivers for moving Data stacks to the cloud, and related opportunities to operating model and way of working

You will be interacting on a regular basis with senior executives of fortune 500 companies, and therefore demonstrate the ability to construct and deliver inspiring and convincing arguments.  You have the ability to develop and maintain peer relationships with senior management level executives.
  • You bring a can-do attitude to project delivery, capable of working independently as well as in teams in our collaborative but sometimes demanding project environment.

Additional requirements include:

  • 10+ years of experience at an established management consulting firm
  • 10+ years of experience in the broader Telecommunications space
  • 10+ years of experience managing the successful execution of multiple strategy or digital projects is highly preferred
  • Strong core consulting skills
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA or other applicable post-graduate degree preferred
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. in an unrestricted manner
  •  Willingness to travel up to 85% depending on client.
