 Job Description

Capgemini Engineering is recruiting a Technical Project Manager experienced in leading complex system development efforts from concept to release.   You will lead global engineering teams in developing new products for the capital equipment and/or healthcare industries.  You will coordinate directly with leadership from both Capgemini Engineering and the client, and drive the execution for multiple Capgemini Engineering teams through a rigorous project lifecycle process.  Routine responsibilities would include confirming or negotiating scope with the client, updating schedules and project plans, re-estimating remaining work and risk, preparing internal and client status reports, and facilitating project team meetings and status meetings.

Responsibilities
The preferred candidate comes from a mechanical or electrical engineering background.  This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work cross-functionally in a highly technical environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead by example, manage by influence, and to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization. The candidate should have experience collaborating with global engineering teams on at least two projects.  The candidate will demonstrate a devotion to product quality with appreciation for design reviews, FMEA, risk mitigation, and testing activities.  The ideal candidate would also have experience working with sales staff to turn compelling solutions into winning business proposals.
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or similar)
•    10 years’ experience in delivery of complex electromechanical products including 3-5 years in leadership roles with end-to-end ownership of key deliverables
•    Demonstrated progression of responsibility from individual contributor to team leadership
•    Experience decomposing complex tasks into smaller functional blocks and applying the appropriate staff or teams to deliver against these.
•    Demonstrated capability managing risk on complex programs – identifying and prioritizing risks, accelerating the discovery of issues or constraints, and executing meaningful remediation plans which improve project outcomes.
•    Experience driving scope tradeoffs and technical decisions and obtaining formal management or customer approval for change orders, in order to meet schedule milestones
•    Experience following rigorous formal product development processes in order to ensure product quality and maintainability
•    Understanding of financial analysis for engineering projects
•    Experience managing project plans in Microsoft Project
•    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills including excellent client facing skills – the ability to work effectively with customers and executives to align technical solutions to business needs
•    Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
 

IT Transformation Managers optimize Business Technology capabilities and manage implementation, change and transformation on behalf of the client. They analyze and evaluate existing Business Technology capabilities (- organization, project management, service management and resources management). They define Business and IT objectives and identify gaps. They are responsible for the success of the transformation by designing the appropriate transformation roadmap and leading the execution of it.  They also carry out skills coaching and consulting.  IT Transformation Managers understand the financial implications of their proposals. Their plans must increase the productivity and quality of the complete IT landscape and life cycle by using client standards and procedures, control and quality management, rationalization and automation. They use industry standards and best-practices including a feasibility check and necessary adaptations for the client.

Required Skills and Experience:

 

The IT Transformation Manager plans and steers projects. He develops solutions for complex functional and/or organizational problems. The solutions consider existing structures, best practice methods and their financial impact (both within and without the project itself), adapted to the individual client situation. He is a competent point of contact for the customer’s middle management. The IT Transformation Manager isn´t only a trusted adviser but also acts as a selective coach. He supports reviews and audits; documenting and sharing acquired practical knowledge. He guarantees the quality of his results through broad knowledge of appropriate methods, clients, sectors and technology. For his division he contributes his knowledge and generates new offers for customers out of his project environment.

 

• Qualification: 7-10 years (3 years min relevant experience in the role)of experience, Bachelor’s Degree.

• Should be proficient in Business Change Management, Industrialization, Architecture Knowledge and Vendor Management

• Should have progressing skills on Project Financials, KPI´s & Reporting
