Primary Responsibilities 

Perform routine maintenance (version upgrades, configuration changes) on our Elastic stack deployments. 

Deploy capacity and architectural changes to handle growth in data volume 

Research new use cases and design usage of elastic to achieve requirements  

Virtualize and containerize deployments 

Create/maintain Python scripts for automation 

Research impact, test and execute Operating System updates 

Research and test new monitoring solutions 

  

Secondary Responsibilities 

Create/maintain Python scripts that collects monitoring data and task automation 

Research and create solutions to monitor all components of our technology stack 

Research and create solutions to assist production engineers to perform their duties in a timely, accurate and efficient manner 

Document monitoring details and hand off to other teams to understand the solution 

  

Required Experience 

4+ years recent relevant experience providing performing maintenance, monitoring, and configuration work, in a 7x24x365 technical operations environment 

Advance technical knowledge in Elastic stack (beats, logstash, elasticsearch, kibana) 

Strong technical knowledge in at least two of the following categories 

Advanced Python scripting 

Kafka  

Linux Systems Administration and Troubleshooting 

Monitoring platforms similar to Zabbix / LogicMonitor 

Puppet Modules creation and maintenance 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  

Desirable Qualifications 

Google Cloud Platform (monitoring, scaling, utilization of Google services) 

Kubernetes (migration from VMs to containers, scaling, administration) 

Understanding of Palo Alto Network firewalls 

Understanding of SIP and other telecom protocols 

Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.

Software Engineers perform requirements analysis.  They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

 

You are an experienced Software Engineer. You have received training and mastered at least one technology environment. You are good at elaborating technology areas and have an ability to position them within the scope of an overall project. You are a member of at least one community.

 

 

• Qualification: 3-7 years (2 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certification: Should have or seeking SE Level 1.
• Should have progressing knowledge in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering, Testing, Data Management, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
