                                                                                   Aero Senior MatLab Simulink Engineer

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating Matlab and Simulink code as well as modeling Engine Health Monitoring Systems for our clients. To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable with reading scientific papers involving mathematical models and engine physics and designing models that can monitor the engine and identify failure modes.
 
Responsibilities:

•Act as the Matlab and Simulink expert supporting a team of engineers/data analysts for algorithm development to predict engine performance.
•Read scientific literature as well as design standard handbooks and apply the methodology and mathematics into models and simulations using Matlab and Simulink. 
•Act as a technical subject matter expert for various health and monitoring systems used in engines.
•Experienced with Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology.
•Able to work in an agile team setting.
•Able to work in a new engine design setting and in an environment with inherent unknowns.
•Great team performer, taking ownership of tasks, delivering results in aggressive timeframes, and able to communicate well through presentations and in group settings.
 
Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering a Plus.
•5+ years' of relevant experience. 
•Experience with military rotorcraft. Knowledge of ADS-79E a Plus.
•Experience in communicating with technical teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs. 
•Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
•Experience with Python a Plus. Familiarity with Jira a Plus.
•Experience in decomposing requirements, systems architecture modelling, ICDs generation and V&V planning a Plus.
•Experience in specific aircraft ATA chapters a Plus.
•Experience with aircraft engines, aerospace mechanical systems, CBM and/or EHM a Plus.

Required Skills and Experience:

 

You are an expert in one or more business processes and technology practices and are accountable for translating a business case into a detailed technical design. Alternatively, you are responsible for operational and technical issues and translate technical blueprints into requirements and specifications. You may also be responsible for integration testing and user acceptance testing. You act as a stream lead, guiding team members by experience. You are seen as active member within technology communities.
