Job Title: DCT Migration Engineer

Job Description:  
This is a hands-on migration engineering role, with a focus on migrating client’s workloads to the private or public cloud, reporting to the DCT transformation lead. The purpose of the role is to focus on delivering infrastructure migrations to public and private cloud for large, global clients.  This role includes ownership of technical, documentation and service elements related to migration project engagements along with building IaaS/PaaS infrastructure.

The successful candidate will ensure high customer satisfaction delivering migrations of client’s environments to public cloud.  The candidate would ensure a highly satisfied customer experience and drive to reduce labor input, costs, implementation time, and time to benefit.  The candidate will help increase profit margins and enhance consistent delivery and operational efficiency.  The candidate must expect to work in parallel across multiple deals and look to assist in the industrialization of the process to support the rapid timescales opportunities demand. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours and working away from home during the week; willing to work nationally, with the potential to work internationally if desired.

Key Role & Responsibility:
DCT Migration Engineer specializing in migrations is a technical role in the project delivery cycle with hands on experience migrating customers to the cloud.  This role will work closely with clients, partners, and other business units to ensure consulting engagements are successful.  He/she must be fully flexible and mobile across the US and EMEA for extended periods and potentially across the Capgemini Group.

What You Bring:  

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud infrastructure projects for hands on migration to public clouds such as AWS, Google, and Azure.
  • Solid understanding of networking and core Internet Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and routing in distributed networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in VMware and infrastructure and private cloud
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix and/or Windows administration, build outs, deployment.
  • Ability to use wide variety of open-source technologies.
  • Experience in automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, Bosh, Terraform or an equivalent.
  • Have a fully flexible approach to working hours and working away from home during the week; willing to work nationally, with the potential to work internationally if desired.
  • Exposure and comfort working with SQL and NoSQL DBs such as SQL, MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Exposure to migration tools, Ie PlateSpin, HCX, Veeam, SRM
  • Problem solver with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Fast learner ready to take on new challenges.
