Job Title:  Reconciliations Specialist

SUMMARY 
Responsible for the reconciliation of the cash account balance per the general ledger to the bank statement.  All reconciling items should be researched and cleared in a timely manner by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reconcile assigned bank statements to corresponding general ledger accounts.
Research and resolve all outstanding reconciling items 
Properly document all outstanding items with appropriate support included.
Prepare and obtain approval for all cash related journal entries to the general ledger
Daily tracking of bank statement activity to general ledger activity (mapping) 
Handle check clearance requests from all departments.
Prepare workpapers for Bank Reconciliation folders
Provide auditors with clear, concise information when requested
Track outstanding checks and provide aged check information periodically for unclaimed property
Special projects as assigned

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
