Job Description 

The Back-End Senior Application Engineer will work heavily on the business logic, real-time and back-office integrations, using platform technology and the OCAPI API's to manipulate data, integrate with external services such as Payment, Tax, Fraud, WMS, and OMS systems and create jobs for processing data. This includes producing application code on-time, on budget, and in compliance with DCX Commerce implementation standards & practices as well as general industry & platform-specific best practices. This role will be helping solve the most complex project tasks and will be working closely with Technical Architects (TA) and Team Leads (TL) on developing solutions. 

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in web development 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C / Demandware 

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in Ecommerce project. 

  • Minimum 3 years of Demandware (SFCC) implementation experience 

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in the Demandware platform  

  • Minimum 1 year of Salesforce Reference Architect (SFRA) experience (codebase for all development) 

  • Proficient in managing the administration of the platform using Business Manager 

  • Current developer certification in Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C / Demandware 

  • End-to- end business architecture and supporting technical components for Demandware (SFCC) projects 

  • Proficiency in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management Consulting/client facing background preferred 

  • Applicable Demandware (SFCC) certifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

Required Skills: 

  • Expert in developing web applications for the (Front-End or Back-End) on the Demandware platform  

  • Proficient in managing the administration of the Demandware platform 

  • Proficient in using and managing version control through Git – including planning & creating branches and performing merges 

  • Proficient in merging JavaScript including relevant libraries 

  • Proficient in effectively document complex functionality in code and documentation 

  • Ability to follow, enforce and help define development standards 

  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented concepts and the MVC paradigm 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, critical thinking 

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written (documentation, code, email, etc.) 

  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills 

  • Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to lead & supervise application development teams 

  • Ability to lead effective scrum meetings 

  • Ability to perform Release & Sprint planning 
     

Responsibilities: 

  • Know the Demandware e-commerce platform and be an expert in the platform API, management tools and capabilities 

  • Use this knowledge to plan, write and test code to meet the requirements of tasks assigned, based on the technical specification for the task 

  • Work with the platform technologies and languages, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 

  • Customize the platform’s prototype solutions to build fully functioning e-commerce sites on desktop, tablet and mobile device 

  • Use object-oriented techniques to create reusable, easy to maintain code 

  • All code must conform to platform-specific & industry best practices, the DCX Commerce code standards, and perform well under load
