Job Title: Senior SACM Manager – Global CMDB/SACM Lead

Location: Virtaul

Job Description: Expert in areas such as governance, industry standards and implementations of Global SACM models. Champion the prescribed lifecycle process and procedures to ensure the registration, maintenance and control of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensures that the implemented process is followed to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of the data within. 

The Senior Service Asset & Configuration Manager oversees the entire Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) delivery for one or more accounts. A leader in their area of expertise and are recognized as a subject matter expert in all aspects relating to ITIL Asset Management lifecycle. Expert in related areas such as governance, industry standards and implementations of Global SACM models. Will lead Asset Management remediations and / or troubleshooting teams either on request or proactively. Will take ownership and leadership of Global SACM initiatives either on request or proactively.

Role: SM Supplier Management and SliM Practice Lead

Reporting to: Global SM Capabilities Lead

Description:  The Supplier management and SliM (Software Licensing Management) Practice Lead is accountable for ensuring compliance with software publisher license agreements and copyright law to minimize risk and avoid potential penalties. This includes developing software policies and processes, licensing templates/checklists. This role is a key stakeholder and works in partnership with Product Owners/Managers to assess and assist in negotiating new vendor agreements, changes to existing agreements, and maintaining appropriate software licenses. The Specialist works with the Global Service Management/Service Integration Practice and with Capgemini global, regional and account specific technology departments and their business partners as well as Procurement and Legal to ensure that the most efficient licensing model and the correct number of licenses to support its business operations.  This role is also responsible for development and delivery a customer collateral and RFQ/RFP proposal review.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Software Compliance Management:

•Manage compliance with all software license agreements and copyright law by monitoring and enforcing proper software usage policies and guidelines to ensure that there is no non-conformance; to include clients where these services are provided by Capgemini
•Read and understand software licenses to ensure compliance; take corrective action if necessary
•Facilitate and Conduct internal software audits to identify variances between deployed and licensed software; ensure deployed software aligns with the quantity and licensing models purchased; rectify variances between deployed and licensed software
•Manage vendor compliance audits as required
•Develop software policies, processes and guideline to ensure compliance
•Work with all levels management to resolve compliancy issues
•Avoid excessive or unwarranted software usage

Software License Management:

•Ensure adequate number and usage of licenses by monitoring, analyzing and optimizing
•Work with Product Owners/Managers in negotiating license reductions/increases as necessary due to usage
•Ensure retention of all proof-of-license documentation
•Develop license templates/checklists, assess and participate in negotiating new software vendor license agreements, negotiate changes to existing agreements
•Evaluate and recommend options to reduce licensing costs
•Assist with the completion of Business Requirements, Business Cases, Project Charters and Proposals on new initiatives relative to licensing as required internal to Capgemini and related to customer services
•Liaise with Product Owners/Managers, Inventory Management and business representatives to ensure proper tracking of all software product
•Assist IT management in establishing license and associated maintenance agreements consistent with current and planned usage, as well as industry practice
•Research, evaluate, recommend and implement methods, policies, processes, best practices, techniques, technologies and tools for software license management.

Manage Vendor Relationships: 

•Create, build and maintain open partnerships and relations with major software publishers to ensure maximum value for all agreements 
•Create, build and maintain open partnerships and relations with third-party services providers
•Manage customer and third-party data repository and third-party data access

Subject Matter Expert:

•Ensure and maintain expertise and advise Product Owners, Managers, IT Senior Management and other key stakeholders on license management methods, processes, best practices, technologies and tools
•Represent CIS with IT Asset Management professional associations and user groups

Core Competencies:

•Prior experience working with Software Licensing Management (SliM) discipline
•Prior experience managing supplier compliance
•Prior experience with contract negotiation
•Demonstrated leadership driving collaboration & developing future capabilities
•Experience delivering programs and managing a variety of stakeholders across distributed organisations, including assessing business value, data qualification, problem definition and solution development with the ability to prioritise workloads in a high profile and challenging environment
•Well-developed analytical skills and attention to detail including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports and deal with challenges creatively
•Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal solutions
•Demonstrated ability to assess and translate requirements into user cases and ensuring user stories are documented, reviewed and managed
•Excellent communication and facilitation skills
•Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional virtual teams

Education and Training:

•BS Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
•Advanced degree is a plus
•ITIL Foundations certification required within 6 months
•Six Sigma certification is a plus
•Bilingual is a plus

Demonstrated CMDB and SACM expert level experience.  
•    Expert in IT Asset Management process & operational delivery
•    Expert in Configuration Management process & operational delivery
•    Experienced with contract terms and conditions (T&C’s)
•    Experienced with how vendor and contracts data must be related to each other and assets within a CMDB
•    Proficient in the operations of software inventory and compliance including industry best practice


Extensive ServiceNow Platform experience; Client interaction experience; 8-10 years of outsourcing experience, bachelor's degree;  Experienced in the delivery of customer services to develop, maintain and improve the relationship with the client; Experience in a wide variety of information technology fields to fully understand the details of the services that can be provided; Experience in a service line operational role providing infrastructure, application management or BPO/Customer Care services.
