050165-Senior Programmer/Developer – Solution Architect with Java experience

  Capgemini has an exciting opportunity for a Java Solution Architect.  This role is responsible for solution architecture and design, as well as co-ordinate delivery estimates from various disciplines (solution, infrastructure, data/information) to define the most effective solution to business problems, while leveraging their knowledge of existing systems and services and the capabilities available in the marketplace. 
    The Solution Architect will partner with Delivery and Sustainment teams and Shared Services partners (e.g., QA, DevOps, etc.) to ensure alignment of the solution approach. 
    Work with various business stakeholders in problem-solving, creating business capabilities, and defining effective and efficient technology solutions for solving business problems and enabling business capabilities. 
    Must be comfortable operating in complex heterogeneous technology environments and have experience with highly integrated and mission-critical solutions. 
    Must possess the ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to business sponsors and partners, technical resources, and executives, in clear concise language that is the effect for each respective group.
    Architect with strong Object Oriented Programming skills
    Experience in working with open source code and frameworks hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring, XML
    Knowledge of industry standard project execution methodologies like Agile/SCRUM or Agile/Kanban, along with a working understanding of epic, story, and task level sizing and planning activities
    Proven experience working within Cloud first architectures, with a practical knowledge of cloud and hybrid cloud implementations.
•    Familiarity with core design patterns
•    Familiarity with Java web services and Microservice Architectures
•    Ability to independently design solutions for functional domains with minimal oversight
•    Ability to independently run meetings with business and technology, and gather all information required to design their domain
•    Ability to present their findings/solution to executives
•    Ability to work with the offshore team including managing/assigning work
•    Coordinate with Delivery Project Manager and Business Analyst to draft project scope and compile delivery estimates 
•    Develop high-level architecture design documents to facilitate integration of in-house development project and/or vendor based application within the existing enterprise architecture

 

Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.

Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems.  Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  

You assign, coordinate, and review work and activities of programming personnel. Collaborate with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Supervise, train, mentor junior level programmers in programming and program coding. Represent team in project meetings.  Work with business and functional analysts, and software & solution architects in ensuring that programs and systems function as intended Supervise, mentor and manage large teams of programmers in one or more projects. Represent project teams in project/program meetings or in meetings with sponsor. 

 

 

• Qualifications: 7 – 10 (3 years min relevant experience in the role) years experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
• Must have experience in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management.
• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
