Job Description: Senior Consultant / Manager, CommunicationsLocation: New York City or Chicago
Public Relations Manager works with the Director of Communications to develop and implement a clear and effective media relations strategy. The candidate will work with a team of communicators and work closely with Group External Communications to support media outreach activities that increase brand visibility and thought leadership opportunities.
The position requires strong writing skills (internal memos, talking points, press releases and blog posts), media relations skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across the company. The position also requires creativity in deploying new tactics and tools to communicate externally.
Communicate integrated corporate story across multiple business units via media channels to support key global messaging pillars
Work closely with the PR agency to help ensure targets are exceeded and share of voice is increased compared to key competitors, on time and on budget
Think and write strategically and creatively about a range of corporate issues in a variety of media, including, but not limited to, press releases, remarks, briefing documents and blog posts
Generate and secure creative storytelling ideas that resonate with influential media and align with business goals
Manage team workflows and take ownership of the function across the region while helping drive consistent media results
Build and foster key relationships with media on behalf of Capgemini
Monitor media and ID trends and issues that could support the company�s key platforms
Bachelor�s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
3 – 5 years experience within PR or related fields.
Proven track record in driving and creating media relationships that result in meaningful coverage.
Ability to translate complex messages into compelling stories that will resonate with the media.
Ability to be pragmatic and manage a fluid sometimes fast-moving workload.
Exceptional written and spoken communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Self-starter who can balance multiple priorities simultaneously, able to work to tight deadlines, establish clear priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Knowledge of and experience in tech/b2b/consulting industry preferred.
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
