Capgemini, a global consulting/IT services provider, is seeking to add to its high-performing legal team. Role location is flexible and can be based anywhere in the United States where Capgemini has offices.

 

 

 

Overview

 

Provide day-to-day guidance and advice to Human Resources, the Office of the General Counsel, and business teams with respect to employment and ethics issues. This role will support senior members of the Employment, Compliance, and Ethics team to provide high quality, business-minded, timely and practical legal counsel.

 

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide employment-related legal advice and counsel to the Company’s Human Resources professionals and internal business clients on a broad range of employment law issues spanning the entire employee life-cycle, from recruiting to terminations and discipline, performance management, reductions in force, leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, drug testing and background checks, wage and hour considerations, etc.

  • Investigate matters raised through the company�s SpeakUp tool, including concerns involving conflicts of interest, ethics, misconduct, harassment, and discrimination claims, and recommend remedial actions and outcomes to internal business and senior management.  

  • Investigate and respond to EEOC, state, and local agency employment-related claims.

  • Direct outside counsel and manage employment litigation and arbitrations.

  • Develop and deliver training and updates to business and HR clients.

  • Identify and implement policy and process improvements.

  • Review and draft personnel policies, manuals and employee communications.

  • Review and draft various employment-related documents, including settlement agreements, separation and non-competition agreements, demand letters, and responses to the same.

  • Provide direction to and collaborate with other OGC team members on employment-related projects, including due diligence reviews for acquisitions/divestitures, review of contractual provisions for business agreement

 Job Specifications/Requirements 

 

  • JD degree from an accredited law school

  • 3-6 years of experience in employment either in a large law firm, a corporate legal department, or a combination thereof

  • Outstanding academic record

  • Clear, concise, effective communicator

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Willingness to take on new challenges and creatively approach problems

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Strong substantive experience in Title VII, ADA, ADEA/OWBPA, FLSA, WARN, FMLA, and state/local corollaries

  • Experience litigating employment matters in state and federal courts  

 
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
