The focus of your role within Capgemini, what you do:

Production and non-production DBA support for Oracle databases in a fast-paced environment. Performance tuning of database, SQL, PL/SQL, materialized views, BI applications. Analysis of SQL trace and TKPROF output. Review DDLs, database logon triggers, audit triggers, etc. Analysis of alert log errors. Analysis of “Snapshot too old” errors and “running out of TEMP tablespace” errors caused by poorly written SQL or insufficient stats; work with application teams to take corrective action. Work with application teams to improve PL/SQL performance. Provide monitoring and tuning for application-specific problems such as long-running jobs and take corrective action. Perform DBA tasks such as Oracle install, patching databases, RMAN refresh, export/import, RMAN backup and recovery. Provide database problem definition, analysis and tuning of performance problems specific to database engine i.e. database locks Monitor “health” of Oracle database; take corrective action.

What you bring:

8+ years’ experience with on-premises administration of Oracle databases
MUST be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR restrictions
Strong technical knowledge of SQL & PL/SQL performance tuning with BI applications and materialized views
Strong knowledge with OEM, Diagnostic & Tuning packs, stats, AWR, ASH, tkprof
Familiarity with DDL, database logon triggers, audit triggers, etc.
Hands-on experience with Oracle development tools on Windows
Hands-on experience with Oracle databases in UNIX/Linux environments
Must understand logical and physical data modelling design concepts
Monitor various coding and job design implementations as per documented standards
Strong knowledge of Multi-Tier (Web, Apps, Database and DMZ Tiers) application environment
Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes and procedures
Manage deployments of code and patching cycles through non-production and production environments
Participate in On-call rotation

Preferred:

Proficiency with Linux/Unix shell scripting
Proficiency with Windows batch scripting
Hands on experience with Oracle database upgrades and migrations
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
