Capgemini America, Inc. has multiple openings for the position of Lead Computer Programmer based out of its Chicago, IL U.S. headquarters. The employee may also work at various unanticipated locations. S/he will perform the following duties: utilize programming languages, tools, and frameworks to conduct IT development work for the clients and collaborate with team members to resolve IT issues; write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment; write, analyze, review, and re-write programs, using workflow charts and diagrams; prepare detailed workflow charts/diagrams to describe input/output/logical operation, then convert into a series of instructions coded in a computer language; perform requirements gathering, bug fixing, testing, documentation, and implementation of software systems; conduct trial runs to test applications/systems/software performance, and conduct performance improvement modifications; perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer; and write/contribute to instructions/manuals prepared for end-users.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering (any), or closely related field plus at least 2 years of experience in the job offered, as Software Engineer, Programmer, Application Developer, Systems Analyst, or in related IT position. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, the employer deems that the suitable combination of education, training or experience acceptable is 3 years of study towards any U.S. bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of IT experience. The applicant must also have: 1) any period of experience designing, coding, testing, and implementing customizations within the software environment; 2) any period of experience developing reports, workflows and metrics within the software environment; 3) any period of experience performing application development in a Distributed Delivery model; 4) any period of experience working in computer technologies, including SharePoint, for collaborative information sharing; and 5) any period of experience working with programming languages, including Java, MS .Net, PL/SQL, ABAP, J2EE, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Tibco, Informatica, or Datastage.
