We are looking for a strong candidate with at least 10+ years of experience in SQL and Oracle database skills, majorly on maintenance, support and migration.

Candidate must fulfill following criteria:
o Candidate should possess at least 10+ years of core experience
o MS SQL Server and Oracle Installations Cluster (Active-Active, Active-Passive setups) and Non-cluster environments (Standalone and Virtual Servers)
o Designing SQL and Oracle Server DB, Business Intelligence tools, Data Warehousing, Database Applications, Installations, configurations, Virtualization, Hardware sizing, and troubleshooting various components
o Expertise in high availability setup and geographical cluster setup (multi node clustering, DB mirroring, replication & log shipping)
o Expertise in Trouble shooting performance issues
o Extensive experience in design techniques, ETL processes, relational database theory, N-Tier development
o Expertise in disaster recovery setups with database mirroring and log shipping on cluster servers
o Experienced in defining multiple DR Strategies and running the DR drills to ensure the DR process in foolproof
o Experienced in backup & recovery implementations, performance tuning & server monitoring.
o Expertise in product implementation and deployment at organization level.
o Experienced in project management (change management, release management, loading factor)
o Bachelor’s degree in computer related field and/or Electronics & Communication Engineering or equivalent degree
o A cloud certified professional will be an added advantage
o Strong communication and Behavioral skills
o Client interfacing and client management is a must
o With good leadership skills and a team player
o Should have skills to manage people

Technical Requirements for SQL and Oracle Database

DB Administration & Maintenance:
I. Creation and maintenance of primary database objects
II. Providing technical input on logical and physical database design
III. DB Availability Management
IV. User Access Management
V. High availability Administration – log shipping, mirroring, clustering
VI. Interaction with Application team for code release

Performance Tuning:
I. Memory & instance tuning
II. Sql and object level tuning
III. Performance monitoring and reporting
IV. Review and approve performance tuning scripts

Space Management:
I. Creation and maintenance of storage space
II. Space Management – Maintaining and planning for future requirements

Backup & Recovery:
I. Plan and implement database backup and recovery
II. Backup & Restore testing and validation
III. Logical & Physical backups
IV. Refresh of Non-prod environment from production
V. Coordinate with Storage Team for Media related activity

DB Monitoring:
I. DB monitoring using standard tools including high availability solutions like mirroring, log-shipping, clustering
II. Automation of daily jobs
III. Responding to Database Alerts

Upgrades and Migration:
I. Upgrade to latest versions
II. Platform Migration / Version Migration

Installing and Patching:
I. Installation of database, application tools, utilities, advanced features and monitoring components
II. Installation, set up & support of all environments for new releases
III. Apply latest Patches
