But their widespread adoption will depend greatly on confidence in their safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In many cars today, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), using a combination of cameras, sensors, and car data networks, provide an increasingly safer driving experience. But, as much as these systems continue to evolve, limitations in the technology mean they may still not offer the safety assurance that drivers and their passengers need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One recent technological development \u2013 Cellular V2X (vehicle-to-everything) \u2013 can offer that assurance. Comprising vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) technology, C-V2X expands a vehicle\u2019s \u201cvision\u201d far beyond that enabled by ADAS. In doing so, it forms a fundamental part of intelligent transport systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are challenges to overcome, however.
