I love the plethora of learning opportunities, which Capgemini provides
- How do you feel in the morning getting up and going to work at Capgemini?
My day for work starts with a kick on my 10-year-old Royal Enfield. It’s a lovely 21 km ride to the office in the morning, which lets me be alone with my machine. This sets my rhythm for the day. Being an Automotive Domain Consultant, I work across multiple automotive accounts which not only keeps my learning curve ascending, but also gives me ample opportunities to contribute with my domain experience and expertise, which adds core domain value to the business solutions I contribute to. It’s a fantastic feeling.
- What do you love about your job?
The automotive industry is changing and adapting fast to innovations across all its functions. When I roll in as a domain expert into the projects, the feeling of contributing to overall project from a domain point of view, empowering the delivery teams with industry practices and processes, winning the client’s confidence – when we speak the same domain-business language, is a feeling of sheer professional fulfilment.
- How does Capgemini empower you to master your skills?
I joined Capgemini in October 2016, as a core domain expert- automotive. I also take this opportunity to thank my mentor and guru Mr Priyadarshan Ranjankar for giving me this opportunity. Till then my decade old experience in the automotive industry was miles apart & away from IT. My tenure so far has not only changed my perspective about IT as a function but has also given me a deep understanding of how software & applications run the show behind the stage, in the automotive world. In these 2 years, I have gathered an in-depth understanding of technologies like SAP, Salesforce, MS dynamics, Cloud computing, Agile execution and multiple CDS applications which is a big added value to my portfolio.
- How does Capgemini help support your sense of purpose in your career?
I am a part of CHROME which is the COE for Automotive & Manufacturing. Working alongside fellow petrol heads, on multiple global projects, driving innovative business solutions, addressing real-world business pain points, not only boosts up my confidence but also push me harder to think what new can be created.
- How does Capgemini give you the autonomy to make decisions?
My role is quite a niche one. I play dual roles of both a product owner & a business analyst. This empowers me to think, create as well as supervise the solution delivery. Open door communication with project and BU leaders, sharing of knowledge with multiple team members, insights and feedback from clients helps to build up transparency and focus on the goals/deliverables.
- What do you love about the way of working at Capgemini?
The flexibility and freedom given to employees are something that I love about the Capgemini way of working. People are approachable and helpful, as well as eager to learn and acknowledge. It’s great to be inspired from multiple success stories of our management leaders, as well as to improvise & level up from our mistakes of the past. This is a great way of learning and conditioning oneself.
- How does this all combine for you to have the passion for what you do?
Having a background of an armed forces family and an undying passion for automotive, values like discipline, constant development, mission success first, innovation and self-conditioning drive me as an individual. My role in Capgemini expects me to perform and deliver on similar lines as well. So I see a perfect match here.
- What was the most memorable moment in your Capgemini journey?
There have been quite a few. However, the one which tops the list is presenting to the Exec-com in 2017, where I presented to all the country CEOs (APPS TWO), of how domain expertise can be leveraged as a strong foundation lever, which helps us to quantify our IT efforts, in qualitative as well as commercially beneficial business solutions. When it was appreciated by the top brass of leadership, followed by multiple connection requests for more insights and opinion, I was on the 7th heaven.
- What are you an Ace at?
I try my best to provide business solutions as an end result. These solutions are for both internal as well as external customers, and my auto-domain experience and expertise drives it. I will say, I Ace in Creating Business Solutions.
