Mumbai, India, 14 February 2012 – Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today presented the ‘Capgemini Leadership Award for Innovation 2012’ to its global client Unilever at the NASSCOM Global Leadership Awards held in Mumbai.
The Capgemini Leadership Award for Innovation honors Capgemini clients who have adopted innovative approaches to drive business excellence and technology leadership.
Unilever is being recognized for its innovative and pioneering business intelligence transformation programme which is being delivered in partnership with Capgemini. Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, with 2 billion people using its products every day across 180 countries, and this major global programme will create its first Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), providing real-time data on its customers, markets and operations worldwide to support decisions on all the company’s plans and activities. The programme involves migrating legacy data warehouses into the new EDW and providing new data-mining and analytical tools to support Unilever management at all levels in achieving fast, informed and fact-based decision-making based on comprehensive and up-to-date data. It is also expected to deliver significant sustainable cost savings both in IT and across Unilever business operations worldwide.
“With over 40 years of global expertise and collaborating with leading corporations, Capgemini is proud to work with clients who innovate and demonstrate business and technology foresight. Unilever is a pioneer in adopting technology for the benefit of their end customers and it is hence an honour for us to present Unilever, in partnership with NASSCOM, the Capgemini Leadership Award for Innovation 2012,” said Aruna Jayanthi, CEO, Capgemini India.
”It’s a great honor to have won the NASSCOM award for innovation. Our vision is to double the size of our business whilst keeping our environmental footprint constant. A year ago, we started to turn this into reality by creating real time information at the point of decision making together with our partners Capgemini. Our business has already started to see the results of the programme, and we look forward to continuing to feel the benefits in years to come,” said Willem Eelman, Global CIO, Unilever..
