Paris – Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced that it has been positioned as a ‘Leader’ in the overall NelsonHall Vendor Evaluation and Assessment Tool (NEAT) for Managed Security Services. In addition to its ‘overall’ positioning, Capgemini has also been recognized as a Leader in all categories: Advance Security, App Security, and Network Security.
According to NelsonHall’s NEAT report, Capgemini is positioned as a “Leader” based on its following strengths:
- Its willingness and proven ability to establish dedicated SOCs to take over the management of clients’ security
- Its high levels of investment demonstrated through the establishment of the Cybersecurity Global Service Line (GSL), the investment in SOCs, new reusable services, and expanding the cybersecurity partner network
- Its strong experience in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) security, with capabilities added through the acquisition of Euriware
- Its strong partnership with Pivotal on big data analytics, which is being applied to anomalous behavior detection.
Mike Smart, Senior IT Services Analyst with NelsonHall, said, “Capgemini was identified as a leader in the MSS NEAT evaluation due to its investment in security, from the establishment of its cybersecurity global service line, to new reusable services, and expansion of cybersecurity delivery. The use of its ‘right people, right process with the right toolset’ model is demonstrated through its robust cybersecurity academy, its recently launched multi-tenant managed SOC and threat hunting service offerings, as well as its big data partnership with Pivotal, which is being applied to anomalous behavior detection.”
The report goes on to highlight that Capgemini should also benefit from the introduction of regulations in Europe, one of its bigger markets. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with an enforcement date due in May 2018, will require clients to be compliant and Capgemini will be able to support them with this transition.
“It’s an important result and a reflection of the investments made in our Managed Security Services and of the considerable work that has been done to develop and field services aligned to the most important business challenges our customers face, explains Mike Turner, Cybersecurity Global Chief Operating Officer at Capgemini. “In 2017, we expect to see our cybersecurity business go from strength to strength through the expansion of our cybersecurity portfolio, with services such as threat hunting, as well as a greater geographic reach.”
This report analyzes the performance of vendors offering Managed Security Services as part of their IT services portfolio. The NEAT tool allows strategic sourcing managers to assess the capability of vendors across a range of criteria and business situations and identify the best performing vendors overall, and with a specific focus on Application Security, Network Security, and Advanced Security Services. For this report, NelsonHall evaluated 10 service providers.
