Capgemini is a place where ideas have more weight than their source, a place where we are not afraid to do the right thing or even to fail.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

As an experienced consultant, my core responsibilities entail leading and executing client projects. I analyze various business areas and advise organizations on their business operations and strategies. I spend a good part of my day conducting research, coming up with business recommendations, and speaking to clients. Further, to ensure that our services stay relevant and to meet the demands of the market, I develop new offerings and drive changes to our portfolio. Lastly, as head of the Research Unit, I also spend some time on operational activities such as organizing training for my team, managing assets, supervising RFP responses, and so forth.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

There is an unparalleled opportunity to learn at Capgemini. Given the diversity of our portfolio, breadth of talent, and the opportunity to collaborate across functions and teams, there is a plethora of areas in which one can build knowledge. Also, I share a strong bond with my team, which makes working fun. We are a very closely-knit group.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

There are so many elements, and it is hard to select a few. The work culture truly embodies and reflects the seven core values underlying our business practices. Of those, my top picks are honesty, modesty, and team spirit. They are the reason I have been here for more than eight years. Capgemini is a place where ideas have more weight than their source, a place where we are not afraid to do the right thing or even to fail.

How are you working towards the future you want?

We are headed towards a future where we cannot view ecology and economics in isolation; they must converge. I wish to be a part of the machinery that drives sustainable changes around the world. At Capgemini, we recognize the changes businesses need to adapt to create a sustainable future. The future I seek is not just professional growth; it’s an ambition that I am after, for humankind. Capgemini’s stance on sustainable transformation will help businesses transform to a low carbon future.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

Coming from the world of investment research, I was a bit new to the field of consulting when I joined. While I was confident about my transition, I also knew I would need some support. I was not disappointed. My team gave me time to learn and provided me with the right training tools to do my job. I do not think the experience of a new member, today should be any different from what I experienced back then.

How do you think Capgemini’s support has been since the pandemic began?

In one word – phenomenal! When the pandemic began, I had no reservations about how the business planned to tackle it. We put people first and came together as a fraternity to combat the situation. The Group initiated countless measures to provide support to the employees and their families. We left no stone unturned to construct an integrated set of avenues that offered professional and personal help in almost every dimension you can imagine.
