The challenge: product identifiers unique enough to track discrete differences in products had spun around industry forums for years with a high degree of polarization and without reaching any consensus.
Capgemini and GS1 brought together manufacturers and retailers for two collaborative sessions over 3 months. Two options were identified and analyzed. Using Capgemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment global consensus was reached on how to address the problem.
