However, this network connection also creates a larger surface area vulnerable to attack via digital means.<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-cg-blocks-group undefined section section--article-content\"><div class=\"article-main-content\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-md-11 col-lg-10 offset-md-1 offset-lg-1\"><div class=\"article-text article-quote-text\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a result, smart factories are being widely targeted by cyberattacks. In our newest Capgemini Research Institute report,&nbsp;<strong><em>Smart &amp; Secure: Why smart factories need to prioritise cybersecurity<\/em><\/strong>, we explored the issue in detail and surveyed 950 organisations to gauge their level of cybersecurity preparedness as it relates to smart factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart factories are undoubtedly the way forward for manufacturing, but their increased exposure to cyberattacks comes with multiple risks.
