In hospitals, medical outcomes often depend on the interaction between different departments such as wards, accident & emergency and the operating theatre. All too often, manual activity and time-consuming communication is required to coordinate a patient’s care across these organisational boundaries, with the result that peaks and troughs occur in the daily schedule.

Bookplan allows hospitals to manage the scheduling of patient appointments, planning and resources electronically, and dispense with paper methods. Using intelligent business rules which can be configured to the needs of every department or hospital, it manages the workflow resulting from every patient’s journey through the treatment process, and optimises resources and logistics to improve efficiency.

Bookplan is already being used in 40% of Danish hospitals, and has delivered efficiency gains of up to 25% in some areas.
