It tracks ‘online sales’, defined as ‘transactions completed fully, including payment, via interactive channels’ from any location, including in-store, collecting sales data from over 200 retailers. These figures are then used to reveal the market performance across a variety of product sectors, showing year-on-year growth, average basket values, and conversion rates. The index tracks over £25 billion of UK online retailers’ sales figures each year.
