Capgemini selected as a lead partner for Hafslund Nett’s Advanced Metering Systems Program in Norway

23 Apr 2013

Capgemini will provide Hafslund Nett with a spectrum of advanced metre and grid project services including program management, technology solution design, metre deployment support and end-to-end testing. Capgemini will also bring its expertise in organisational change management and business process development aspects of the project. Capgemini was selected as a lead partner after a competitive tender process involving a number of major global and local vendors.

Hafslund Nett’s AMS program will ensure that Hafslund Nett complies with the future requirements from Norwegian authorities regarding advanced metering systems, and provide the foundation for the modernisation of Hafslund Nett’s grid and network operations. An important motivation for the program is to secure compliance with public regulations, and there are important benefits regarding improvements in operating efficiencies, network reliability and customer service.

This is a significant win for us with the largest utility in Norway and consolidates our strong position in the European Smart Energy market. It is one of a series of major recent successes in the utilities sector, demonstrating our continued momentum in the Smart Energy market worldwide”, said Peter Harris, European lead for Smart Energy Services, at Capgemini.

Program Director Gunnar Horne from Hafslund Nett: “we look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Capgemini, counting on their important lead role in our multi vendor strategy. We chose Capgemini because of their proven and successful track record in delivering Smart Energy programs for utilities around the world. We also recognised their ability to blend world class international resources, capabilities and experience in Smart Energy with local Norwegian consulting and technology skills.”
