Capgemini launches Applied Innovation Exchange in the UK

15 Jul 2016

London – Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has today announced the launch of its Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) in London. This new innovation platform enables UK business leaders to plan their organisations’ future transformation and address any disruptions ahead of them, by immersing in the discovery, experimentation and application of emerging technologies.

Capgemini’s AIE in London, co-located with the Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE), connects innovation environments and tools with the combined know-how of Capgemini’s experts worldwide, its partners, and a broad community of start-ups. It focuses on exploring cutting-edge technologies, such as blockchain, bots and artificial intelligence, and how they can help organisations solve their most complex challenges. From driving adoption of a new channel by a global consumer products company and partnering with Intel to develop proofs of concept in the area of Internet of Things, to working with a financial services client to deliver its own innovation capabilities, it helps organisations generate ideas and rapidly build prototypes.

“We’re thrilled to be opening our latest Applied Innovation Exchange in London, giving business leaders the chance to not only see the latest innovations from a host of exciting companies across the globe, but also explore, here and now, what they could achieve within their own organisations,” comments Rory Burghes, VP, AIE & ASE, at Capgemini UK. “Being part of a global network of Exchanges, it will provide our clients with access to the very latest thinking from across Capgemini, as well as our partners and start-up communities worldwide. This will help them transform their businesses by reducing the development and deployment cycles from years down to months or even days. With the increasing pace of emerging technology, the AIE will ensure innovation drives real and sustainable growth for our clients’ businesses.”

The AIE in London is the latest in a global network of nine Exchanges, including Paris, Munich, Mumbai and, more recently, San Francisco. The extension of the AIE network to include London enables Capgemini to tap into the local vibrant tech scene and globally recognised expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech and  design.

“As we work with our client and partner eco-system, we continue to validate that the rapid application of innovation brings sustainable value for the enterprise. By focusing on the discipline of Applied Innovation, we are providing organisations with a path to address one of the most strategic and important dynamics in the market today”, comments Lanny Cohen, Global Chief Technology Officer, member of the Group Executive Committee, and Group Leader for the Applied Innovation Global Platform at Capgemini. “To support our Group ambition and strategy around cloud and digital, and to go beyond our great delivery capabilities, we are focused on our clients who look to us as a major partner to address the demands on their ability to grow, compete and launch new business models leveraging innovation. With the new Exchange in London now part of our Applied Innovation Global Platform, it gives us even greater capability to engage with and support our clients in the UK and across the world on a different level.”
