The management consultancy arm of Capgemini UK plc is preparing for ongoing expansion
in one of its key market sectors with the recruitment of Martin Wells as Vice
President, Energy, Utilities and Chemicals (EUC) Consulting.

Martin joins Capgemini from Accenture where he headed teams running some of the
largest transformation programmes undertaken in UK utilities and enabled major
household-name clients to improve customer service and reduce cost to serve. He
also gained extensive experience of programme and change management, CRM and customer
operations, human performance management and outsourcing.

John Penny, Head of EUC Consulting at Capgemini, said: ‘New opportunities and pressures abound in energy and utilities and we are experiencing
ongoing high demand from clients seeking our help in responding to new and changing
market challenges.  The addition of Martin Wells to our team, with his terrific
experience and track record, will give us powerful additional help in satisfying
that demand.’

Martin, whose new appointment takes effect immediately, will lead a team of Capgemini
consultants whose combined experience includes major projects with some of the
world’s largest oil, gas and chemicals multinationals and many of the UK’s leading
utilities.

Commenting on his new role, Martin Wells said: I’m delighted to have joined Capgemini’s Energy, Utilities and Chemicals Consulting practice.  A recent Gartner Dataquest report ranked Capgemini as the number one provider
of consulting services in the utilities sector and I’m looking forward to building
on that.
What sets Capgemini apart for me is the depth of experience of their people,
their collaborative style of working and their great track record.  I’m confident
that with our joint experience we have what it takes to help make our EUC clients
ever more successful. ’
