Capgemini UK and Ireland Appoints Mark Porter as Managing Director
Capgemini today announced the appointment of Mark Porter as Managing Director
Consulting and Technology UK and Ireland. Since joining Capgemini in 1990, Mark
has held a number of senior management positions within the Consulting and Technology
divisions of the Group, most recently as Head of Technology Services, UK and Ireland.
In his fifteen years with the company Mark has led major client projects, spearheaded
change management within the group and been instrumental in developing major strategic
alliances with key technology partners.
As head of the region, Mark will be responsible for leading the strategy and
delivery of Capgemini’s world class capabilities in Consulting and Technology
Services in the UK and Ireland. A major strategic focus for 2005 will be “Transformation
through Technology”: working with clients to realise the potential of their people
and gain real competitive advantage from their investment in technology.
As Managing Director Mark will build on Capgemini’s leading position in the UK
public sector and grow Capgemini’s private sector business in markets such as
Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail and Telecoms.
Mark succeeds Clive Williams, who will be retiring to focus on other business
interests from January, after 16 years with the company. Mark Porter said: “Clive

Prior to joining Capgemini, Mark’s career included heading the IT services division
of a major steel construction company and founding Conder Technology, which was
acquired by Capgemini (Hoskyns) in 1990. Mark went on to create Capgemini’s first
Technology Consulting business; leading many major Public Sector IT projects as
well as directing the major British Steel (Corus) transformational outsourcing
