London – Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has been appointed by MAG, the largest UK airport owner and operator, which includes Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports. As part of MAG’s wider transformation programme, Capgemini will provide the foundation for this journey, leveraging the latest SAP® technologies. The project is to manage, develop and implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform for MAG, providing a core business model which will support efficient and scalable future growth.
A key focus of the new contract, which was awarded following a competitive pitch process and will run until summer 2016, is to deliver a step change in the user experience, provide ‘right tools for the job’ and build a strong platform to enable innovative digital and customer strategies that will result in cost savings and improved customer service. The project will cover integration of different systems and processes across the four airports, enabled by new-wave SAP technologies underpinned by SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA® (SAP S/4HANA), which is designed to drive innovation by connecting people, devices and networks in real time to support the development of new business models. The platform will be a hybrid cloud platform including SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and other software-as-a-service products, including the SuccessFactors® Employee Central Payroll solution from SuccessFactors, an SAP company; travel and expense management service from Concur, which is now part of SAP; and cloud-based commerce applications and business network from Ariba, an SAP company. The new operational system will pave the way for innovative services for passengers and airlines.
