Capgemini UK healthcare plan to become more trans-inclusive

In celebration of International Transgender Day of Visibility, we are proud to share we have taken the first steps in making our healthcare plan more trans-inclusive by including gender affirming pelvic surgery. This is effective from April 1, 2020.

At Capgemini we are proud to have an active and vibrant LGBT+ network, OUTfront. The network has members are engaged in making Capgemini a more inclusive and better informed place to work. Due to their hard work and commitment to LGBT+ inclusion we have successfully be named a Stonewall Top 100 employer for 3 years in a row – and consistently increasing our ranking each year.

Trans inclusion is a priority for Capgemini; we are committed to supporting employees to be their true selves and supporting them should they choose to transition. OUTfront and Capgemini UK HR Benefits Team have been working closely with our health care provider over the last year to begin steps towards making our healthcare plan more trans-inclusive.

We are therefore delighted to announce that, effective from 1^st April 2020, our healthcare plan now includes provision of gender-affirming pelvic surgery. This benefit will be available to healthcare plan members aged 18 and over, who have undergone preliminary treatment in line with NHS guidelines.

Out of our UK private medical provider’s 250+ UK clients, we are one of five companies offering gender-affirming pelvic surgery, Capgemini is proud to be leading the way. While we appreciate this is only the first step in our Trans-inclusion journey, we believe it is a pivotal one, which we should celebrate.
