Our Positive Planet programme covers the continual reduction of our internal environmental impacts – particularly energy, travel and waste. However, we recognise that our biggest environmental opportunity lies is in the services we deliver to our clients.
We believe technology will play a vital role in tackling the challenges of climate change and resource scarcity. We already see this happening through the development and application of new technologies such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, block chain and smart cities in response to global challenges.
By developing our world class sustainable data centre, Merlin, we are able to provide energy efficient, sustainable data centre services to our clients.
Nearly three-quarters of FTSE 100 companies have published carbon reduction targets, including many of our existing clients. Therefore, developing sustainable and efficient solutions, which help clients meet their ambitious targets is no longer an optional extra, but a core requirement for winning and retaining business.
In 2014 we joined a group of leading companies supported by the Climate Group and Forum for the Future, to push the sustainability agenda to the next level by focusing on what it means to be Net Positive.
