Every day, our employees prove that people matter. Through local, national and global initiatives, we help create opportunities and raise living standards for people around the world. Every year, Group Community Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate these inspiring initiatives while encouraging even greater community involvement.
“Our people have always seen participation in the community as an essential part of their role as Capgemini citizens. Engaging with the communities in which we operate is perfectly aligned with our core values.” –
Group Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Director
At Capgemini, we actively encourage employees at all levels to get involved in the communities in which they live and work.
To ensure maximum impact, we align our community involvement with our business activities and client relationships and focus on the themes of skills for the future, education and inclusion.
We have a longstanding history of community engagement activities, including:
- Schools Programme
- Work Experience
- Pro-bono consultancy
- Financial contributions
Global Initiatives with the Naandi Foundation and MicroWorld
Globally, we support several major programs such as the Naandi Foundation, a leading Indian charity fighting against poverty, and MicroWorld, an international microfinance organisation.
Investing Time in Our Local Communities
Nationally and locally, we invest our time and efforts in established organizations around the world. For example, we work with Business in the Community in the UK to create a sustainable future for the planet. In Italy, we’ve created an award-winning first aid course with the Red Cross.
We also encourage our local teams to support the causes that are closest to their hearts particularly around education, skills for the future and social inclusion.
Global community engagement awards
Capgemini has introduced a global awards scheme for our employees across the Group. The Global Community Engagement Awards recognise our employees who lead community engagement initiatives around the world and thus empower and inspire others to have an active attitude towards solving social problems and building a leadership culture in the company.
Community Engagement is a strong and long-standing commitment for Capgemini, and today we have set ourselves a very ambitious goal: touch one million lives by 2020, through our education and skills programs across the world. I am always impressed by the passion of our volunteers and the energy of our teams who are already doing incredible work in their communities, and I know I can count on our people to achieve this bold objective. –
