Core Management Consulting

You will join our Consultant Development Community (CDC), which is our Core Management Consulting programme. In two years you will learn all the necessary skills and gain the relevant experience in order to become a well-rounded and entrepreneurial Management Consultant.

The programme is designed for talented graduates and second jobbers who would like the opportunity to experience consulting in a range of industries and sectors before choosing to specialise in a particular field. During the programme you will develop core skills and capabilities that are core to your success as a consultant, for example agile, business analysis, cyber, digital delivery, analytics, stream leadership, project management and operating model design.

You will have the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications which form part of the two year programme, as you develop your talents to become a leader of the future. Working alongside a world-class team with a wealth of consulting and industry experience, you will create relationships and acquire a foundation of consulting skills, tools and methodologies to help you accelerate a career in management consulting.

You will work as part of a project team to build trust-based relationships at the heart of a client’s organisation, helping them change the way they work and transform their business to achieve their goals. You’ll get early responsibility and build your skills through interesting and challenging work.

 

Learning and Development

You will start your consulting career at Capgemini Invent with an intensive 1-2 week face to face induction followed by a 3-day residential Consulting Skills course run by our renowned Capgemini University. Soon after, the knowledge and skills can be applied to client work.

You will get to choose from a suite of accreditations including:

  • Agile Scrum Master and Product Owner
  • PRINCE2 Foundation Level Certificate
  • CIMA Business Simulation Certificate
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

At the end of the 2-year programme, subject to performance, you will progress to become a Consultant in one of our practice teams, with the opportunity for further specialism. Throughout the programme you will continue to have the support and structure in place to help you achieve this goal.

 

What You will need

We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience working in the industries we operate in and are interested in starting a career in Management Consulting.

You will be or have:

  • To be a critical thinker, curious by nature, passionate about solving problems and keen to embrace technology in all its aspects
  • Be ready to start learning from day 1, on the job and through our core curriculum courses
  • To be great at building relationships and fostering trust
  • A strong desire to further your own personal development
  • To be comfortable working away from home for up to 5 days per week
  • At Capgemini, academics form part of our overall hiring decision but we don’t screen out purely on the basis of academic performance. We will assess your suitability for a role using a number of tools including strengths and critical reasoning assessments, video interviewing and assessment centres

 

What You Will Do

As an Associate Consultant you will embark on a challenging yet exciting 2 year journey, during which you will be working with various clients on changing the way they work and transforming their business to achieve their goals.

You will develop your core consulting skills by helping clients change the way they work, behave and achieve their goals. You’ll have the opportunity to work on large scale transformation programmes – anywhere in the UK or further afield – and ensure the smooth delivery of end to end projects by working flexibly in different business areas and delivering innovative solutions for clients. You will have the chance to contribute to our business through a wide range of internal activities, enabling you to grow and play your part in shaping your own career.

You will also design and facilitate interactive workshops to get key input for your deliverables, developing and refining your presentation skills and taking on board the feedback of those around you to continually grow as a management consultant. Other activities include mapping processes and customer journeys as well as gathering requirements as a Business Analyst. Most importantly you’ll be working in collaboration with colleagues at all levels, clients and others, applying your critical business thinking and developing your industry and solution knowledge to deliver outstanding results day in day out.

Throughout your time at CDC there is a robust support system, which is there to help you and guide you through this programme.
