The focus of your role

We are looking for 1 person to join the Highlands PMO team as Project Analyst. The team supports multiple clients which will be increasing in the near future.

 

Within PMO there are 10 core processes and these are:

 

1. Financial Management
2. Planning Coordination
3. Reporting
4. Resource Capacity Management
5. Change Control Management
6. RAIDE Management
7. Governance Support
8. Communication
9. Induction (Internal and Client)
10. PMO Administration

What you’ll do

PMO forms part of the Engagement Management Community with Projects and Consulting (P&C). We provide administrative support to Engagement Managers primarily in the Projects and Programmes arena. This support can take many forms from process definition and governance to simple assistance to free up Engagement Managers time to focus on more complex delivery issues.  The team are based across the UK, with a variety of skillsets from all-rounders to subject matter experts.  The team is largely deployed on assignments with a focus on ensuring as many individuals are in chargeable roles as possible.  This working environment enables our team members to develop their skills and knowledge which can and has resulted in promotion to higher grades as well as opening up opportunities to pursue their career in the Engagement Management community. We operate a Mentoring scheme to help develop our team members and give them the tools to approach whatever situation they may face on their assignments.

What you’ll bring

The Project Analyst will work as part of the UK PMO Team reporting to a PMO Lead/PMO Manager depending on the role. You will be providing back-office support, relating to Service Introduction planning, Resource Management, Account Communications, Organisation Chart maintenance, Knowledge Management, Service Manual maintenance, Governance reporting and other identified support tasks.

 

Technologies Used:

Essential:  MS Standard Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Skype

 

Desirable: PowerPoint, SharePoint, EFFECT, N2K, THoR, GPS, GFS

 

Expectations:

 

In addition to the Personal and Technical Skills described below, the successful candidate will be expected to be able to do the following:

 

Gather feedback on a regular basis using the MyPath
Train for and obtain the Engagement Management Certification – Foundation Level
Be able to build strong work relationships and network of contacts both inside and outside of PMO.
Be able to take responsibility for your career and seek out opportunities to develop and progress.
Be able to take ownership of your role and develop innovations and best practices.

Essential:
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Proactive and able to work as part of a team and as an individual
• Flexible in terms of detailed tasks
• Confident decision making skills and the ability to prioritise or escalate appropriately
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Self-motivated

Desirable:
• Advanced Excel skills e.g. pivot tables, macros, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
• Advantageous to have worked in a client facing-role and dealing on a day to day basis with clients
• Experienced in communicating complex issues over the phone
• Good problem solving skills
