As a Capgemini Architect you will be assigned to the Capgemini Public Sector Digital and DevOps Unit across a number of major Public Sector clients. Primarily working with Open Source software, the team are first and foremost engineers, putting Software Engineering and professionalism at the heart of delivery. You will get to work with a set of technologies and ways of working that are starting to define the industry as well as work with excellent engineers, who are at the forefront of technology.
The Digital Architect has a key role in defining and delivering a Digital Government. You should thrive on variety and enjoy working across the full lifecycle of a project: help define a client roadmap, create a vision for a service, work with agile teams to deliver, create an automated continuous delivery pipeline, work with DevOps teams to understand and improve the service in production. We want passionate, energetic technologists who can create solutions, work with clients, lead development teams and occasionally help with winning work.
You’ll work closely with the developers, owning the technical solution, getting your hands in the code when required and ensuring that the team use the most up to date tools and techniques to deliver excellent digital services for UK government departments.
•Experience of client facing roles
•Strong software engineering/development background (Java, Scala)
•Recent experience of delivering web-based services, ReSTful APIs or complex integrations.
•Hands-on experience of modern software architectures such as micro-services, CQRS
•Experience in delivering using Agile
•Experience in defining solutions using open-source.
•Experience in defining, delivering, improving Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines
•Experience and passion for, leading teams of software engineers.
Additional skills also of interest:
•Delivering in a cloud-based environment
•DevOps tooling and their place in a solution (Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes etc.).
•NoSQL databases – differences, selection criteria, delivery experience
•Development frameworks such as Play!, Dropwizard, angular.js, node.js.
