Capgemini UK is one of Britain’s top 100 LGBT-inclusive employers

We are delighted to announce that Capgemini UK is featured in the Stonewall Top 100 LGBT-inclusive employers list, the second year in a row.

This year, 445 employers submitted entries to Stonewall’s Top 100 list to demonstrate their commitment to LGBT workplace inclusion, and Capgemini was ranked 60th.

Christine Hodgson, Chairman at Capgemini UK, commented: “We are delighted and honoured that Capgemini features on the Stonewall Top 100 employers list for the second time, after first entering it last year. We are very proud of the work we’ve put into supporting the LGBT+ community since the launch of our OUTfront network in 2009, from hosting the LGBT+ & Allies conference to following up with a Pride Talks series. OUTfront is now an integral part of our business planning from the perspective of employee engagement, client intimacy and high-impact team development. Our leadership team sees diversity and inclusion as a central pillar of providing a welcoming workplace for everyone from any background that drives great business results.”

As part of the Top 100, each employer must share a questionnaire with their staff asking them to provide feedback anonymously on their experience with workplace culture and diversity. This year, Stonewall received 92,000 responses, with 93% of non-LGBT employees responding to say they understood why their organisation is committed to LGBT equality.

Darren Towers, Stonewall’s Executive Director, said: “Capgemini UK and all those who have made this year’s Top 100 Employers list are making a huge difference to workplaces, services and communities across the UK. LGBT-inclusive employers play a crucial role in changing society by using their power and influence to protect and support LGBT people. More than a third of LGBT staff (35 per cent) still hide their identity at work for fear of discrimination; that has an impact on productivity, wellbeing and more and shows we still have lots to do. However, with organisations like Capgemini UK displaying such a strong commitment to LGBT equality, we are one step closer to creating a world where all lesbian, gay, bi and trans employees are welcomed and accepted without exception.”
