Capgemini UK’s Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) 2015/16 report providing an overview of our sustainability approach with our clients, suppliers, partners and our people has been published today. In it, we review our progress and celebrate our achievements across the four strategic dimensions of our CR&S programme: Values & Ethics, Environmental Sustainability, Community Engagement and People Culture.

Last year represented a pivotal year for the climate change and sustainability agenda, with both the launch of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and a new global agreement on climate change. In our report, we reflect on the importance of these milestones to Capgemini – for example, our Environmental Sustainability programme is driving greater efficiencies across the business and led to a further 11% reduction of our carbon footprint in 2015.

Last year, we also saw a record-breaking number of people participating in our corporate Community Engagement programme. More than 100 people took part in a sponsored cycle ride for The Prince’s Trust and many more judged students’ app ideas in the Apps for Good national competition. Through our employee Community Impact Awards and grants, Capgemini UK has supported over 45 different charities and our employees themselves have raised and donated £594,000 to charity.

Established in 2015, our Diversity & Inclusion working group will be looking to ensure that we maximise the benefits of a truly diverse and inclusive workforce, enabling us to boost co-innovation with our clients.

These are just some of last year’s successes. The work we do has been recognised not just through awards and ratings, but by winning new clients, attracting new talent and strengthening relationships with our suppliers.
