“I was struck by the fact that all the people I interacted with during the recruitment process felt competent and genuine”

Before I started working at Capgemini Invent, I studied a master’s degree at Copenhagen Business School with a focus on Accounting, Strategy & Control.

Previously I had the opportunity to both study and work abroad. During my bachelor’s degree at Lund University, I was given the opportunity to study a semester at the University of Technology in Sydney. The year after, I spent three months in Switzerland working as a finance intern. Thanks to these international experiences, I gained an understanding of the benefits of working in an international context, like Capgemini Invent not only in terms of the cultural exchange, but also how it represents a more creative, open and innovative work environment.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini Invent?

I found that Capgemini Invent differentiated itself from competitors through its clear focus on digital transformation and innovation. In addition, I saw great benefits that the company has the possibility to leverage the full business and technology expertise of the Capgemini Group.

I decided to join Capgemini Invent based on the people and corporate culture. During the recruitment process, I was impressed by the humble, friendly and inclusive environment. Moreover, I was struck by the fact that all the people I interacted with during the recruitment process felt competent and genuine.

Tell us about your role at Capgemini Invent?

Currently, I am staffed on a project where I am involved in different project streams. One of my tasks is to support the mapping and estimation of all ongoing and future IT initiatives. This implies having regular contact with IT architects, facilitate workshops and consolidate data. As the client is in the process of transitioning to an agile way of working, I am also involved in the planning of the client’s first PI Planning. This involves preparing presentation and information material, editing the workspaces and ensure that everyone meets their deadlines. In addition to my project, I have internal tasks related to my role in the Business & Analysis Group (BAG).

What makes Capgemini Invent stand out?

Capgemini Invent stands out based on its people, knowledge and continuous research, and the collaborative ways of working. Furthermore, the company invests a lot of resources in professional, and also personal development.

Tell us about something exciting and educative from your career at Invent so far

Even though I have never taken an IT course or even worked close to an IT department, I am currently staffed on a project where I closely work with everyone from IT managers to IT architects and developers. With that said, the most exciting thing from my time at Capgemini Invent is the opportunities that the company offers its employees.

Tell us about the Business & Analysis Group (BAG) and your role

I am part of the Event team within BAG. We are responsible for arranging our summer and winter conference, breakfasts, after works and other internal events. Being part of this group of people helps you to get to know more people outside of your current project and thus increases the sense of community within the company. When  many of us work in our clients’ offices four out of five days a week, it is very  valuable to belong to different internal groups with whom you have continuous contact.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini Invent?

What characterizes the company is openness, genuineness, curiosity and willingness to cooperate. The people who work for Capgemini Invent are competent, friendly and without prestige.

How does Capgemini Invent support your development?

The company support my development mainly through the counselor program. By knowing that you have an assigned counselor within the company who is available to discuss work related challenges, gives you advice and support you in your personal and professional development is extremely valuable.

In addition, the learning and development programs help me develop my skills and knowledge through a broad variety of training formats. The opportunities to constantly learn new methods, practices and areas is very valuable.

What is your best advice for a student who dream to start a career in management consulting and at Capgemini Invent?

My main advice for anyone who wants to work as a management consultant is to build up a strong CV consisting of strong work experience, extracurricular activities, good grades and preferably international experience. By looking at your CV one should be able to understand that you are a curious, driven and ambitious person.

My advice to those who want to work with us at Capgemini Invent is to meet us at student events in order to establish a relationship. This will both give you a good indication if you will enjoy working for us, but also give us an opportunity to get to know you before the recruitment process. This indicates a true interest for the company, which is something we highly value.

Why should you join Capgemini Invent?

You should join Capgemini Invent if you thrive in a dynamic context that values collaboration, curiosity and competence. It is a perfect environment for those who want to continue to develop and appreciate being challenged.
