My main focus is on smart cities and smart mobility to help cities and their ecosystems to develop vision, strategy and solutions for their societal problems. I work with my clients from the perspective of new societal and technological developments and the (disrupting) effect it has on business and society and how these changes impact the role of government and its institutions in terms of policy, solutions, operations, governance and cooperation with ecosystem partners.
I prefer to work in co creation with clients to develop and help (digitally) transform their organization and operations.

Recent work includes:

  • Intelligent Cities Challenge (EU/DG Grow/EASME) is a program we run with a consortium for the EU to develop a vision, strategy and road-map for 180 cities in the next five years and to support these cities in implementing their solutions.

Before joining, I worked a Consulting company on smart cities and mobility and was member of the global team. I have developed strategies for several cities in Europe and helped a private company develop their MaaS proposition. I published a point of view on smart cities at my previous organisation and continue to do so for Capgemini Invent.

Hans is fluent in Dutch, English, and German and conversant in French. In his spare time, he is a member of the Board of Jongplus that guides individuals with mental disorders and psychological problems in developing skills and helping them to find and retain work.
