Delivery excellence

Capgemini is a very flexible workplace, and it has a good work-life balance. It is also a place where you are welcome to try out a different career path, or try out some new ideas you might have

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I work as a project manager for different clients. My work life is diverse – a day at Capgemini is never the same as the next day. However, an average day would always include working with clients, solving problems, and making progress in projects. At the same time, most days also entail evolving our Community of Practice within Capgemini, or doing some kind of learning, whether it be webinars, reading, or participating in a learning and development program.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

The best thing about working at Capgemini is the freedom that you’re given. For example, the freedom to try out new things or the freedom to work from wherever fits with your day.

I think that Capgemini is a very flexible workplace, and it has a good work-life balance. It is also a place where you are welcome to try out a different career path, or try out some new ideas you might have. Freedom is important to me, and I believe that Capgemini lives up very well to this particular value.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

Something that makes me proud to work at Capgemini is how we help each other. If someone is overwhelmed with tasks or unsure of how to perform a job, there will always be a colleague that steps up and helps out. The culture that we have, where people aren’t afraid to ask for help and get help in return, even though everyone is busy, is really valuable. This has also been clearly visible in the last year and half, since the pandemic hit us and we moved to new ways of working. Even with remote working these days, one always finds the time to connect and support other teammates, and collaborate well by various means.

How are you working towards the future you want?

I hope to excel and make progress in my career, and I truly believe Capgemini supports this. Working towards this happens on both a regular day-to-day basis, as well as on a higher level. My manager both challenges and supports me in different areas of my daily work. Parallel to this, I am also a part of the WISE Up program – Worldwide Inclusion, Showcasing Equality – where I am being trained in diversity and inclusion, as well as being equipped with leadership skills that will take my knowledge and learning to another level entirely. I am confident this will help in my career growth, both at and outside Capgemini.

All in all, I can work towards the future I want, and I am very well supported in doing so.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

My advice to someone joining Capgemini would be to be yourself, share your experiences and knowledge, and don’t be afraid to reach out to people, even if they seem busy. I believe that Capgemini is very much based on relations, and people are welcoming and friendly. Just jump into it!
