Allerdings kann es negative Folgen haben \u2013 sowohl f\u00fcr andere Stakeholder als auch f\u00fcr die Umwelt.<\/h2><p class=\"intro-para-content\">Sch\u00e4tzungsweise 80 Prozent der Umweltauswirkungen von Produkten entstehen durch Designentscheidungen. Nachhaltiges Produktdesign gewinnt daher zunehmend an Bedeutung. Es kann sowohl positive Effekte auf die Umwelt und die Gesellschaft haben als auch die finanzielle Performance eines Unternehmens steigern.<br><br>Nachhaltiges Design zeichnet sich \u00fcber den gesamten Lebenszyklus eines Systems durch ein Maximum an \u00f6kologischem, sozialem und wirtschaftlichem Nutzen aus. Die sozialen und \u00f6kologischen Kosten sind dabei minimiert. Diese Definition folgt dem &#8220;Triple-Bottom-Line&#8221; Konzept, das die Gesamtbilanz eines Systems nicht nur am Gewinn misst, sondern auch an seinen positiven Effekten f\u00fcr die Menschen und den Planeten.<br>\u00a0<br>In der aktuellen Studie \u201eRethink: Why sustainable product design is the need of the hour\u201c des Capgemini Research Institute befassen wir uns eingehend mit der Thematik des nachhaltigen Produktdesigns. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war es, die Wirkungen von nachhaltigem Produktdesign zu erforschen und zu erkennen, wie weit Unternehmen bei der Integration von Nachhaltigkeit in ihre Designentscheidungen fortgeschritten sind. Dazu haben wir 900 Produktdesign- und Engineering-Manager aus Gro\u00dfunternehmen dieser Branchen befragt: Konsumg\u00fcter, Automotive, industrielle Fertigung, Luft- und Raumfahrt, Hightech und Medizintechnik. Zus\u00e4tzlich haben wir Interviews mit 15 Entscheidungstr\u00e4gern aus der Industrie und Akademikern gef\u00fchrt.<br><br>Wir haben herausgefunden, dass Unternehmen mit nachhaltigem Produktdesign einerseits von besserer Compliance, geringeren Emissionen und weniger Bedenken hinsichtlich knapper Ressourcen profitieren, andererseits aber auch ein h\u00f6heres Umsatzwachstum verzeichnen und ihre Beziehungen zu Kunden und Mitarbeitern verbessern konnten.<br><br>Bisher steht Nachhaltigkeit jedoch bei den meisten Unternehmen nicht im Fokus des Produktdesigns. Sie sehen zahlreiche Hindernisse vor der Neustrukturierung ihrer Produktentwicklungsprozesse.
