Capgemini’s InnovatorsRace50 celebrates the life and times of Capgemini Group founder Serge Kampf, the values that embody the Group and the spirit of innovation. Across five themes (GovTech & Social Enterprises, FinTech & Mobility, Consumers & Well-Being, Digital Processes & Transformation, Data & Security), 50 startups were shortlisted to receive the Serge Kampf entrepreneurship and innovation award: equity-free funding of $50,000.

The Top 10 businesses have been selected, and in this first part of a five-part series, we’ll take a look at the customer experience aspects of the two businesses in the GovTech & Social Enterprises category.

GovTech & Social Enterprises

Lili smart (France)

Lili Smart is a smart all-in-one solution giving peace of mind to family carers, which enables them to organize themselves effectively; to assist their loved one in their daily activities; to be alerted in case of emergency and also to analyse health preventively by detecting deterioration. The solution is composed of a smartwatch for frail people measuring their activity, sensors placed at home and an app for carers.

Our innovation lies in our ability to offer our clients a customizable solution responding to a situation, by definition, complex and unique. Because every person, family, disease is different, and evolve over time, Lili Smart adapts. That’s why we developed more than 50 features to help carers and ensure the safety of their loved one. Our AI algorithms analyze the person’s lifestyle and detect degradation. Our system relearns continuously, making Lili Smart a powerful tool for risk prevention.

The customer experience angle: Customer experience is often about being provided with a personalised experience, but this instance is perhaps one where such personalisation is most crucial. Ensuring that the information and support provided by the platform are timely and relevant to the person in care is of vital importance. Given the potentially stressful, tiring and upsetting situation that carers may find themselves in, having a device which seamlessly supports them through AI algorithms and complex analyses will give the carer one less thing to think about.

Buddy4Study (India)

Every year millions of talented students are unable to reach their full potential due to lack of affordable financing. With the help of data science & AI we are solving this problem by being an educational financing matchmaker, wherein we gather & curate students using internal normalization scoring model. It enables both institutions & individuals to finance students as per their eligibility criteria through scholarships & track the growth of the student with 100% transparency.

Buddy4Study is India’s largest transactional marketplace for scholarship providers & seekers with 100% transparency. They have developed a cutting-edge technology to match student profiles with scholarship eligibilities in a fraction of seconds. The platform is a blend of ideas on education, implementing AI & data science in simplifying the whole process of educational financing & scholarship matchmaking.

The customer experience angle: Education can often be marred with barriers, whether they are geographical or, in many cases, financial. Traditional scholarship schemes can be complex to navigate, have extremely limited spaces or are only part-funded, resulting in the student having an ever-decreasing chance of being able to complete their studies. Here, different elements that we’ve seen across disruptive technologies such as real-time access to a wide network of crowdsourcing, intelligent data analysis and mobility are combined into a single offering, to provide students with new opportunities within education.

The finals

The Top 10 finalists will now go through the mentorship phase, culminating in the Grand Finale at VivaTech, Paris in June 2017 where five winners will be announced – one from each theme.
