– Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Well, I\u2019ve been with Capgemini for a little over ten and a half years now and my role at Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) has changed so much over the last few months. This was particularly true throughout 2020, when the change was faster than ever before. I now have more clients accelerating their move to the cloud, increasing security in the wake of an explosion in cybercrime and enabling employees to work in new ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, my role is essentially at the heart of my clients\u2019 digital and business transformations and my day consists of any number of things that help drive these transformations forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– What\u2019s the best thing about working at Capgemini?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One of the main things is the immense difference we make to our clients\u2019 businesses. In CIS, we have invested heavily in cloud migration, security, and employee services and today we are seeing more opportunity and growth than ever before. That\u2019s something that\u2019s perfect for our people in terms of where we\u2019ve got to go, so it\u2019s fantastic to be in a position to help accentuate that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m proud to be able to mentor and coach some of the amazing women we have at Capgemini. Throughout my career, I have always had strong people there for me to advise, support, and help me on my journey. Not, to propel me in my career, but to listen and suggest directions to take, which helped me a great deal. That\u2019s why I believe it\u2019s essential that we help our women colleagues build a brand for themselves, network more, and be more aware of what is happening. We have done a lot of work in this space for our female talent and our top achievers over the last few years. We have put together a program on coaching and mentoring to ensure that we\u2019re helping them along their career journey, which has started to make a difference. We\u2019re now seeing more women coming up through the promotion panel and be far more visible than they used to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– How are you working towards the future you want?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It is very important to set a vision where everybody understands the journey ahead, what\u2019s in it, and what it means to them. Many businesses fail to share their vision and purpose and what that means for their people. Once you start to tell the story, it starts to become very clear to your teams. I realized this late in my working life; I was very much a numbers-driven, performance-oriented sort of person and I think it\u2019s only over the last few years I\u2019ve realized that the vision is so important. I think that if you set a clear vision and tell people what it means and why, people understand and then can follow with a sense of purpose, pride, and happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I think the first one is to have resilience. For me, the definition of resilience, because it means different things to different people, is really about the ability to bounce back. You will always have issues, problems, and setbacks, but it\u2019s the ability to bounce back, to be resilient enough, and to learn from it. I think that\u2019s one thing that has guided me through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should also have the ability to constantly adapt. You are entering the world of technology, this ever-changing industry and business, so be open to constant learning and become flexible enough to work with different people from diverse cultures. But, you will discover it is a great source of innovation and inspiration!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
