Senior Test Engineer

Job Title: Senior Test Engineer
Location: New York City, NY
Position Type: Permanent/Fulltime

Roles & Responsibilities:

Perform the functional testing, Exploratory testing within the sprints
Active collaboration & participation within Scrum team
Review User Stories with business analysts, designers and developers to ensure tests are appropriate to demonstrate that delivered solution meets agreed requirements
Provide story point estimates of testing tasks in the Sprint Planning meetings
Participate & contribute effectively in daily stand up, sprint review, retrospective meetings
Involve in creation of Manual Test Scenarios covering positive and negative testing for User Stories
Define Agile test strategy, approach for every sprints
Define Test Automation Approach, Identify right tools and drive Automation coverage within the sprints
Ensure that tests are planned, carried out and reported thoroughly in a professional manner
Mentor the testers within the scrum teams

Role Specific Skills:

Manual Testing, Functional Testing, Experience in Agile Environment

Experience & Exposure Required:

6 - 10 (or more) years of proven experience in manual testing out of which at least 4+ years in Agile
2 (or more) years of experience in Database/backend and Exploratory Testing
Must be customer focused, collaborative, eager to learn and passionate about delivering business value in a timely manner
Working knowledge of any ALM tool like Rally, Version one, JIRA Agile is must
Primary Skills (Must have)
Worked as Manual Tester in Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban/ SAFe)
Should have good exposure to testing web-based applications/ products
Banking and Financial industry domain preferred
Practiced exploratory testing
Good collaboration and communication skills
Secondary Skills (Nice to have)
Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) system
Agile and Software Testing Certifications are preferred
